Since 1934, the Fourqurean family has called the same 350 acres of farmland home.
Five generations of Fourqureans have lived and worked on Circle F Farms in Gracey, Ky., each facing their own unique trials and tribulations while raising beef cattle, show pigs and row crops.
According to the Beef Checkoff, producer-funded marketing and research program, 97 percent of beef cattle operations are considered family farms. Of those farms, 79% of have less than 50 head of cattle. Circle F Farms is one of these small farms, facing increased pressure to either get bigger or go under.
Third generation farmer John Fourqurean, his son David and grandson John David discuss the challenges they face as they fight to keep the family farm alive.
