		<description>I applaud the idea of making food companies more accountable for food safety. I think accountability is always a positive thing, no matter what industry.  I do have a couple of questions, though. First, where does the United States compare to other countries in instances of foodborne illnesses. I think it&#039;s important to have the safest food supply anywhere--which I think we&#039;re close to, if not at already--but I also think it&#039;s naive to think that we could ever reach a point where there are no instances of foodborne illnesses. Just my opinion. Second, where do these legislators propose that funding for additional regulations come from. I&#039;m pretty sure USDA would expand inspection and regulations if funding were available, so I&#039;m just wondering where this money is coming from.
